Installation & Adjustment

Kneestop Kit Adjustment

Each Kneestop has 4 positions - 0, 20, 40 and 60 mm offset - provided by the bare base or one of the three shims:

Bare base (most forward position):

20 mm shim:

40 mm shim:

60 mm shim (most rearward position):

To replace the shims, remove the three screws and swap sizes. These screws should be hand-tightened about as tight as you can get them.

NOTE - these screws are not particularly tolerant of worn-out Philips drivers; use a fresh tool to prevent stripping.

NOTE - the screws will form threads into the base upon initial installation, which takes extra effort the first time. Thereafter, aim to re-engage the existing threads; do not cross-thread the plastic repeatedly or you may strip the holes.

To install the rubber pad, align the bobbins on the pad with the holes on the base/shims and press firmly to start them into the holes.

Send the bobbins home by whacking them with the butt of your screwdriver.

Aim for the circles seen on the face of the pad.

To remove the rubber pad, grab the tab with pliers and pull.

CAUTION - using the Kneestops without the rubber pad may cause your knee to slip off, especially if your suit has hard-armor over the knee.

To choose an adjusted position for your Kneestops, sit on the seat wearing your suit and boots as you would entering a corner (one butt cheek off the inside of the seat, etc.).

With your inside knee tight to the bike, the Kneestop should be about one finger-width away from your knee. This will allow you to "reach" slightly to engage the Kneestop, while also keeping it out of your way in moments when you don't want it.

NOTE - you may need to relocate your slider-puck outward/downward on the Velcro patch of your suit to prevent interference with the Kneestop. The Kneestop should not contact your slider-puck.
